random notes on playing akashi in an rp setting -
- one of the most boring aspects of Akashi is that he's set up to basically be good at everything. That's not realistic or particularly fun. Balancing the fact that he is supposed to be a teenage prodigy with the fact that he's removed from a narrative context that enables him to always come out on top is a challenge, but generally, I think it's interesting/fun to have Akashi draw the short end of the stick sometimes. Because that would never happen in canon!!

- generally, with noncastmates, my interpretation of how he'd interact with them is most informed by this — ostensibly polite/friendly, self-confident in a quiet but extremely strong way; he has no need to assert his ego to others because he knows himself and his capabilities. But there's a definite edge underneath that anybody who cares to observe for long enough (or that Akashi might choose to reveal) that he's not all well-spoken young master. I guess it's also based more on how he acts during the Teikou arc, since canon suggests Akashi still acts the same at the surface level.

- so in some sense, he... probably gets along with non-castmates better, in some ways. His castmates have all seen the depths of his shittiness (or at least know of it, probably), so he doesn't have to try as hard with them...

- "Knowledge is power" — in an unfamiliar setting, he'd probably want to absorb new information like a sponge for this reason.

- someday I'll format this in a nicer way
